Janome 12000 – The Embroidery Hoops!

Extra Large Embroidery HoopWhen we see a new embroidery machine released, we hold our breath for just a minute to see what the manufacturer will include in the purchase price of the machine. Janome never disappoints. I have already mentioned the twenty (20) feet included with the new 12000. Today I would like to mention the new embroidery hoops that are included with the 12000.

Janome has always provided the main hoops with their top of the line machines. The hoops for the 12000 have been refashioned and made much sturdier than before. Not that there was anything wrong or flimsy with the hoops for the other machines, but I think Janome simply felt it was important to engineer the sturdiest tools possible for the new 12000.

Janome 12000 & The New HorizonLink Software

Janome HorizonLinkMost who will purchase the new Janome 12000 will own a computer, and whether laptop or desktop, it will be essential that they have the ability to connect their Janome 12000 to the computer. The reason for this is to utilize the new HorizonLink program.

HorizonLink offers Janome 12000 owners a number of great functions. What I like most about HorizonLink is the Stitch Composer Tool that enables you to create new stitch patterns, and the ability to combine stitches together while on a computer. And if that isn’t enough for you, Janome’s HorizonLink will add additional stitches to already formed decorative stitches within the software, and finally to send the entire combined stitch pattern to the Janome 12000. Your stitches are only limited by your creativity!

Aileen’s Perspective – The New Janome 12000

Janome 12000I flew home yesterday, returning from Orlando where I attended Janome Institute. I’m very tired today, but am back to work at Temecula Valley Sewing Center, and as exhausting as the trip was, the new Janome “top of the line” Horizon Memory Craft 12000 has kept me enthusiastic about sewing. The new machine has features I never thought possible in a sewing/embroidery machine. To try to impart all of the information I learned about the Janome 12000 in this brief blog post would be impossible. Instead, I will compose a number of blog posts over the next few weeks, featuring one or two amazing benefits in each post.

Stolen Janome Memory Craft 11000SE Machines

Stolen Janome Sewing MachinesJanome has contacted Temecula Valley Sewing Center and all Janome sewing machine dealers, indicating that 215 Memory Craft 11000SE sewing machines were stolen en route to a Janome America facility. We are estimating that this would be nearly one million dollars worth of wholesale merchandise, and there’s no doubt that Janome is working diligently to recover the machines.

You should be very cautious about purchasing an 11000SE on the internet, or anywhere for that matter, and especially if the price is very low. Make sure the machine has a serial number, and make sure to contact your local dealer so they can check that the serial number is not on the list of stolen machines.

Janome has voided the warranty for all 215 of these machines, and dealers are advised to confiscate any of the machines if they should be brought into our stores for service (or for any other reason).

Janome Feet For Your Bernina

Janome sole on your Bernina snap-on shankDid you know that with Bernina’s snap-on shank, you can use Janome feet on your Bernina? Not many Bernina models come with the snap-on shank, but it can be purchased as an accessory from your local Bernina store. The snap-on shank’s part number is 006082.73.00.

The snap-on shank that we tested here at Temecula Valley Sewing Center was the one that comes with the Bernina B 330. The foot, or sole that we used was one of the ones for Janome horizontal rotary hook type machines. When browsing the foot selection at your local Janome dealer, you will see that many of the feet are labeled accordingly.

Machine Embroidery on Knits

Happy Embroidery GuyWhile many of you have been avid and accomplished machine embroiderers with years of experience, sometimes I forget that the “newbie,” (novice) embroiderer needs to be exposed to the various stabilizers, threads and needles, to enable her/him to succeed with machine embroidery.

Earlier this week, a very sweet lady was in the store, seemingly plagued by an embroidery machine she thought might be in need of major service.  She had actually called the week before and wanted to bring her machine in for service.  Understanding that she has been exposed to machine embroidery for only a few months, I asked her to bring a sample of her work with her to show me what was happening as she attempted to embroider.

New Arrival – Janome New Home 2030DC Sewing Machine

Janome 2030DC Sewing MachineTemecula Valley Sewing Center received an email from Janome this afternoon, announcing the arrival of a new sewing machine, the JNH2030DC.

While we haven’t actually seen the machine in person, but it looks very much like the DC1050. In fact, a quick overview of the sell sheet that Janome sent to us makes the 2030DC look like a DC1050 with 20 missing stitches. The price of the 2030DC is quite a bit higher than the DC1050, so there has to be something special about the machine. Perhaps it is coming with extra feet, a different type of shank, more accessories, or something fun. We’ll let you know when we find out!
